The home of Uncommon Sense: Providing Clarity, Promoting Intelligence

Norwood Goes to Ohio

I am excited to announce that a major client of mine has booked me to deliver a full-day workshop to a key team out in Columbus, Ohio. This workshop is a tour de force involving 8 hours of intensity designed to cause a team to come together and embrace a common goal, and map out a clear path to its attainment. The goal could take anywhere from 9 to 18 months or so to attain. In addition, I will teach this team how to ensure that everyone remains focused on the attainment of the goal, using a simple method that ensures things won’t fall through the cracks. Finally, I will teach the team to set in motion a mechanism for charting their progress, enabling them to know how they are performing at all times, so that at any time if they fall behind, they will know instantly that they must run faster to catch up. I’ve run this program for quite a number of teams, and in every instance they have hit it out of the park. In one deliverable, a team at a large non-profit institution that routinely took around 3 months to begin the process of implementing new policies and procedures that were handed down by county government agencies – which drove their executive director crazy – set a goal to reduce the time down to a 6-week process – from 3 months to 6 weeks! Everyone on the team thought this was impossible. I knew better. And, after some initial floundering, they succeeded. They hit their goal. They became believers. Their Executive Director was flummoxed! She couldn’t believe the impossible became the new norm.  I expect to work the same magic in Ohio!
