Norwood Delivers Blockbuster Speech to Historical Society

It was my honor to deliver the keynote speech to a recent event hosted by the Maricopa Historical Society. It was my second invitation to speak to this august group of historians and history buffs. In late 2024 I had addressed them on the topic of Six Great Men, an overview of six of the primary Founding Fathers of our great republic. While that presentation was an overview of Franklin, Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, and Hamilton, on this second occasion I tried to address an oft-heard claim by historians among the Secular-Left that the Founders were not really very religious, didn’t really believe in God or Christianity, were deists at best, but most were irreligious.

I proved that to be false.

All six of the Founding Fathers mentioned were deep believers in God, Christianity, and divine things. Only Thomas Jefferson, who did believe in God very deeply did not believe in the divinity of Jesus although he did treasure the gospel accounts of the four evangelists.

The audience was engaged and attentive and we held a rousing Q&A segment that I particularly enjoyed.  Anyone living in the Maricopa area in Arizona who has a love of history should check out this wonderful organization.
