The home of Uncommon Sense: Providing Clarity, Promoting Intelligence

Trump Destroys Iran’s Nuclear Plans to Obliterate Israel

In the previous issue of Uncommon Sense (Issue #333), this column began with these words: “One thing is clear: There are two broad steams of thought in the United States of America today. These two streams of thought cannot be reconciled, which is ominous for that is what causes civil wars to occur.”

President Donald Trump’s decision to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities to Kingdom Come either represented an astounding act of leadership and foresight, or, it represented an out-of-control dictator who needs to be destroyed. And both alternatives are being promoted by adherents of the two streams of thought I described in Issue 333.

Let’s recap: for the last 47 years or so, ever since the ousting of the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, in 1979, Iran has been led by dictators who are ruthless and brutal, modern-day Visigoths, who spend their money building up weapons while impoverishing their people, reducing women to slaves, and wishing to obliterate the nation-state of Israel. Up to this point, no one has had the courage or the backbone to deal with Iran adequately. The evil has metastasized and Iran has proven they cannot be trusted to honor any agreements they enter into, and they have demonstrated that they are prepared to build a nuclear bomb and turn the Israeli people into smoldering mounds of charred remains.

It took a decisive, courageous leader like Donald Trump to put an end to this evil.

But how do people on both sides of the aisle react to this decisive act of courage? Let us see. . .

Warner Woodworth, who fancies himself as “a social innovator, a disruptor, change agent, renegade, catalyst,” etc., evidently has taught at the University of Utah, at Brigham Young University, and has done a stint in Barack Obama’s old job as a “Community Organizer,” (which, to quote Rudy Giuliani, causes me to wonder, “A what?!”) Woodworth is about as radical as they come. Thus, he posted on his Facebook page that the bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities caused him to shed tears. I suspect Warner must also wish for the obliteration of Israel which would have also caused him to shed tears, only those tears would be tears of joy. He goes on to write such nonsense as this: “. . . Trump’s bombing their nation as a pretense for taking out nuclear war materials. As most rational Americans knew before today, it’s part of the War-Monger’s plan. Anyone with a grasp of corrupt political power has long realized such creeps plan, deny, then strike.”  That is the level of Woodworth’s sophistication – foolish, nutty, and bitter.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, had this to say: “With this, the United States powerfully and decisively continued the IDF and Mossad’s assault on Iran’s nuclear program – a program that threated our very existence and endangered the peace of the entire world.” Such verities are not something that Woodworth could ever process.

Ken Martin, the Chair of the Democratic National Convention wasn’t so sunny: “Today, against his own words, the president sent bombers into Iran.” Profound comment. Mr. Martin is evidently incapable of imagining a world in which changing conditions change actions.

Jonathan Brown, the Alwaleed bin Talal chair of Islamic Civilization in the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, said what only a typical radicalized Left-wing indoctrinator could say: “I hope Iran does some symbolic strike on a base.” Come again? The American professor wants Iran to do what??? What does it mean to symbolically strike a base? I will explain: he wants Iran to fire missiles at an American military installation, to “symbolically” show they are still in the game of war.  Ok. . .

Yet a former Clinton advisor, Jamie Metzl, and a Democrat, praised President Trump with these words: “. . . I’m not a blind tribalist and am perfectly comfortable praising President Trump for bold and courageous actions in support of America’s core national interests, as he took last night.” He also went on to say that had Kamala Harris been elected president, she would not have taken such action, as she lacks both “courage and fortitude.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass, called Trump’s actions against Iran “unconstitutional.” Yes, you heard that right. There is something in the Constitution that protects Iran from being neutered from decimating a nation-state. She goes on to say, “Only Congress can declare war,” as if Trump declared war.

In contrast, Gideon Sa’ar, Israel’s Foreign Minister, saw it differently: “Tonight, President of the United States Donald Trump etched his name in golden letters in the annals of history. Through his courageous decision to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, he has proven beyond all doubt that he deserves the title ‘Leader of the Free World.”  This is the kind of statesmanship that drives the Warner Woodworths of the world batty.

How about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.? She has never been one to be at a loss for words. . . “The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers. He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.” Yup. Impeachment. That’s the first thing that comes to AOC’s mind when she thinks of President Trump: What has he done that we can impeach him over?

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries weighed in with this: “President Trump misled the country about his intentions, failed to seek congressional authorization for the use of military force and risks American entanglement in a potentially disastrous war in the Middle East.” Evidently Mr. Jeffries doesn’t quite grasp the concept of stratagem. He likely wanted President Trump to announce four weeks ago the following: “I want to inform the leaders of Iran that at exactly such-and-such a time on such-and-such a date, we will be using our B2 Bombers and also our subs to send bombs to the following coordinates. Just wanted to give Iran a sporting good chance to prepare their counter-attack. Thanks.”

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, a Republican, who was briefed on the impending strikes prior to launch, had this to say, “The military operations in Iran should serve as a clear reminder to our adversaries and allies that President Trump means what he says.”

I have cited 10 distinct individuals above – 9 of them in positions of some level of leadership (and one of them a community organizer with a lot of time on his hands). Six of them (Warner Woodworth, Ken Martin, Professor Jonathan Brown, Elizabeth Warren, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Hakeem Jeffries) see only evil on the part of Trump. They do not care one bit that Israel was a country in the cross-hairs of a lunatic fringe regime. They hate Trump and that’s all that matters. Trump could have cured cancer and they would find reason to want to impeach him.

However, four of them (Benjamin Netanyahu, Jamie Metzl, Gideon Sa’ar, and Mike Johnson — plus many others I did not cite) see it differently. They view President Trump’s actions to personify resolve, decisiveness, and leadership. They recognize that President Trump displayed courage, the likes of which we have not seen in a very long time. They recognize that Trump has destroyed Iran’s ability to level the nation-state of Israel (and probably others, including our own). They recognize that Iran is a nation comprised of resurrected Hitlers who can only salivate when contemplating destroying God’s chosen people. Woodworth, Martin, Warren, Ocasio-Cortez, Jeffries, and all of the other renegade Leftists out there that are currently soiling their pants over Trump’s decisive actions are the modern-day useful idiots that help perpetuate Jew-hatred, antisemitism, and generalized evil.

And that, my friends, is the latest elephant in the room.
