“May you live in interesting times.”
The quote above is said to be a bit of ancient Chinese wisdom. We certainly do seem to be living in interesting times, especially on the political front given that we are in an election season. And as we’ve heard in all of the presidential elections of the last 45 years or so, this election is said to be the most important and consequential election in our lifetime. I’m sure the same thing will be said in the future election of 2028, and 2032, and 2036 and 2040. Every election will be said to be the most important and consequential election in our history.
Certainly Republicans and many Independents believe that if Joe Biden is reelected, the entire country will go down the toilet. After all, Biden’s open border policies have already put in motion eventualities that will likely have consequences we can scarcely imagine. Given that more than 2,570,127 kilograms of fentanyl and meth have been seized by DHS since Fiscal Year 2021, just consider how much fentanyl has escaped detection and entered the country and how many Americans either have or soon will lose their lives as a result. Or try to imagine how many dangerous gang members from Venezuela or Honduras who rape and murder for recreational purposes have entered our borders, resulting in the deaths of many American citizens, with many more deaths to follow. Or what about the Chinese communists who have slipped into our country due to Biden’s open border policies, or Islamicists with ties to ISIS or Al Qaeda who have managed to infiltrate our country? These latter thugs are the same types of people who murdered almost 3,000 innocent Americans on September 11, 2001. What are their plans for us? When will they strike? Additionally, with a man in the White House who clearly suffers from dementia, how vulnerable are we now in matters of foreign policy or national security or the national debt or economic policy, knowing that dementia is progressive and that Biden will soon forget his own name in the coming months?
Similarly, Leftist-Democrats (excuse the redundancy) are all convinced that if Donald Trump returns to the White House, the entire planet, along with the solar system, and all known galaxies will immediately explode into a firestorm of catastrophic oblivion (I am aware the wording of this sentence doesn’t quite make sense, but it does accurately capture how Leftist-Dems think).
This is truly novel. Think of it this way: during the 1960 Presidential Election, we had John F. Kennedy (a Democrat) running against Richard Nixon (a Republican). The same was true with the 1972 Presidential Election, where we had Richard Nixon again, running against George McGovern (a Democrat). Likewise, in the 1984 Presidential election, we had Ronald Reagan (a Republican) running against Walter Mondale (a Democrat). In each of these three elections, just like in most other presidential elections, given individual citizens preferred one candidate over the other. If John Doe preferred Ronald Reagan over Walter Mondale, John Doe didn’t see Walter Mondale as a demon from the bowels of hell; he instead saw Walter Mondale as supporting certain policies that John Doe did not agree with; John Doe, in essence, felt that Ronald Reagan was a superior leader.
But in 2024 (just as in 2016 and in 2020) somehow Leftist-Dems have persuaded themselves that the election of Donald Trump to become President again is akin to releasing the Kraken!
Truly, I have seen a lot of political vitriol in my time, but I’ve never seen anything quite so hysterical as the reaction of Leftist-Dems when contemplating Donald Trump winning this upcoming election. If Trump does happen to win, it will be fascinating to watch the sweeping convulsive fits and hysterical shrieking, the unhinged spasmodic twitches and the large-scale soiling of one’s undies with a simultaneity that will be logic-defying.
The Leftist-Dem hatred of Donald Trump has been well documented. In fact, the level of detestation of Donald Trump is so over-the-top, one can be forgiven for stopping to contemplate why the hatred is so ardent. For examples of what I am referring to, just consider the following:
I could amplify this Bakers Dozen of examples for the rest of the afternoon, adding more than one hundred additional examples of Trump Derangement Syndrome among Leftist-Dems. But these 13 examples should suffice to explain why Leftist-Dems are absolutely terrified, literally shell-shocked at the very notion of Donald Trump becoming President again.
But have the Leftist-Dems ever really considered whether Trump’s original time in office resulted in the mayhem they claim they fear? What actually did President Donald Trump accomplish during his first term in office? Let’s see. . .
The above list is a mere drop in the bucket, but I would be interested in understanding from Leftist-Dems why they believe a future Trump presidency would be a dangerous thing. After all, we have four years of history with Donald Trump and it doesn’t appear that he rounded up Jews or anyone else and placed them in concentration camps to be gassed.
Late Breaking Addition: A radicalized Trump-Hater, mere two days ago, attempted to assassinate President Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania. Thomas Matthew Crooks, age 20, fired several shots from a high-powered rifle, striking Trump in the side of the head, the bullet grazing Trump’s right ear, killing another adult who was shielding his family, and severely injuring two other men. Once the bullet struck Trump, he immediately dove for cover behind the lectern. Classless CNN put out a headline focused on Trump “falling” for obvious reasons. Other Trump-Haters on social media seemed gleeful. Immediately following the assassination attempt, woman from Boise, Idaho, Micki L. Jolliff, who is a rabid Trump-hater, had the temerity to write this on Facebook: “People are killed every day in this country by gun violence.” (Translation: Settle down people; it’s only Trump; it happens all the time to far more important people; chill out.) She went on: “It is a good thing for the crowd this person only wanted to kill Trump.” (Translation: Trump is expendable and he should be killed. He deserves to be killed. Trump isn’t innocent. The crowd may have been.)
Think about the meaning of her words: “It’s a good thing . . . he only wanted to kill Trump.” Right. To a Leftist-Dem, wanting to kill Trump is a good thing. A wonderful thing. But Trump-Haters such as Micki L. Jolliff (who insists she doesn’t hate anyone) are not alone in their desires to see Donald Trump murdered; Ms. Jaqueline Marsaw, a field director for Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-MS, posted the following on social media right after the assassination attempt: “I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops that wasn’t me talking.” What are we to make of such sentiment? She doesn’t condone violence? And yet she speaks out of the other side of her mouth condoning not just violence but the attempted murder of the Republican nominee for President?
Then there was the usual crowd who blames Trump for everything. They didn’t miss a beat; they blamed Trump for the assassination attempt itself. Somehow, it was Trump’s fault. Sky News posted a story initially headlined as follows: “Nothing justified an assassination bid – but did Trump play a part in changing the rules of engagement?” In other words, Trump caused this. . . Shame on Sky News.
Likewise, a CNN host was upset with Donald Trump for his behavior right after being shot. I am not making this up. Jamie Gangel said “I do want to say there was one thing that when I watched the tape, I found odd because of all of the heated rhetoric, and that is after he was hit, former President Trump got up and said, ‘fight, fight, fight.’” I wonder if Ms. Gangel has been as upset in the past when Democrat politicians used that term. Barack Obama recently wrote, “This election is still a choice between someone who fought for ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares about himself.” California AG Rob Bonta recently said, “We will fight based on the rule of law.” An unnamed aid of Vice President Kamala Harris was recently quoted in an NBC News article as follows: “We are ready for this fight. Let’s stay positive. Head down. And let’s execute.” In fact, Kamala Harris herself said, “We will not back down. . . We will fight, and we will win.” Democrat governor Josh Shapiro recently said he would “fight like hell” to reelect Joe Biden. Was Jamie Gangel of CNN at all flustered when these various Democrat politicians used the word fight? Not in the least. But if Trump says it, after being shot no less, it’s considered by CNN folks to be classless, mean-spirited, and dangerous.
In my view, due to the assassination attempt, Trump will be our next President unless one of two things happen: 1) Another assassin takes out Trump; 2) If it could somehow be proved that Trump had staged this whole thing. I think it safe to say Trump will absolutely be our next President.
If I were a Leftist-Dem, and were I invited to a planning meeting in their war room, I would tell my frenzied, demoralized colleagues to face up to the fact that Trump is going to win in 2024 and not to waste any more energy or resources on this election, and instead, regroup and look to 2028.
And that, my friends, is the latest elephant in the room.
