Ever since Donald Trump left office in January 2021, our southern border has been, for all intents and purposes, wide open. While it is true that neither President Joe Biden nor Vice President and “Border Czar” Kamala Harris have ever candidly stated the obvious, which is that the border is open by design, that in no way changes the fact that the Biden-Harris Administration reversed all of President Trump’s border policies as soon as they took the levers of power. It was only at that point that millions upon millions of illegal aliens poured into this country unabated, along with enough fentanyl to kill over 200 million American citizens. In fact, since the Biden-Harris Administration started, there have been an estimated 262,460 Americans killed by Fentanyl.
But back to the open border. This was not an accident on the part of the Biden-Harris Administration. This is what they wanted. If they did not want this, they would have to be, by definition, the most frustrated leaders in history. But they are not frustrated. They are very satisfied at this massive influx of illegal aliens.
So giddy are our leaders today at this unprecedented influx of illegal aliens invading our country in numbers heretofore unheard of, that they even deny such people are illegal at all. They went from the term “illegal alien” to the more benign term “undocumented worker” and now to the latest term, simply “Newcomers.” To the Biden-Harris Administration, just because a person from, say, Venezuela, arrives here without going through the standard, legal process of obtaining a green card, completing the N-400 application, attending a biometrics appointment, undergoing an interview with a USCIS officer, passing an English exam, passing a civics exam, and taking the Oath of Allegiance at a naturalization ceremony, doesn’t make them “illegal” (which it surely does). Instead, the Biden-Harris Administration made the decision to allow for a porous border, not allocate resources to prevent what they now call “gottaways” from evading Border Patrol agents, and essentially arranging for busloads of illegal aliens to be bussed into our country, or flown in on planes the U.S. Government sent to their homeland to take them anywhere they wish within our borders, or to set up phony “programs” to allow unvetted people from places such as Haiti to enter our country under the veneer of official sanction, after falsely claiming they have been vetted.
The stated reasons for such policies by the Biden-Harris Administration have centered around providing humanitarian support for people who are fleeing dangerous regimes. However, the strong suspicion is that the deeper motive is to find a way to allow illegal aliens to vote in our elections so that Democrats will remain in power for at least a generation (on the assumption that illegal aliens will feel a moral obligation to reciprocate to Democrats who opened up the borders to them).
But what are the costs of such lawless policies? Are there perhaps unintended consequences afoot? I think so. Consider the following and ask yourself if the Biden-Harris open border policy is sound.
Just in terms of human life, this is a very small sampling of what has happened thanks to the Biden-Harris open border policy:
These nine examples are a mere drop in the bucket. The actual numbers of murders are in the many hundreds. Then, there are all the rapes and assaults that I won’t even take the time to go into. Then there is the cost to our schools, and our communities. It’s well into the billions of dollars.
People can make decisions. Some may decide that it’s perfectly rational, even humane, to open up our borders and let anyone come into our country who wants to be here, even if it results in the murder of American citizens.
But here’s an easy litmus test to see if that position holds water: Would a person entertaining that viewpoint continue to hold it if he or she was faced with being killed by an illegal alien? Are the virtues of an open border worthy of giving up your own life for?
No?
I didn’t think so. . .
And that, my friends, is the latest elephant in the room.
