I don’t like being wrong. At least not habitually. Yet I still reflect on Einstein’s pithy saying that “I am not interested in being right; I am interested in knowing whether or not I am right.”
But here is something I hope I am wrong about.
Donald Trump wasn’t hated by a large portion of the country until June 16, 2015. That was the day he announced he was running for President of the United States. Once the Leftist radicals in our country heard him say he would build a wall to keep illegal aliens out, they went berserk. They suddenly hated a man they had never hated before. And the vitriol got crazier and crazier over time with people claiming they wanted to see Donald Trump dead. I have no doubt that if Donald Trump were to die, whether he was killed, or he died of heart failure, or a plane crash, that the Leftist radicals would be overcome with joy. It would be like Mardi Gras for months as far as the Left was concerned. Some of them would undoubtedly use his grave for their personal urinal.
And in fact, there have been not one but two assassination attempts on the President-Elect.
And based on a number of factors, I’m not at all of the opinion that the Secret Service, or the CIA, or the FBI is serious about protecting Donald Trump. It would not surprise me in the slightest if there were men and women within their ranks who would love to see Donald Trump killed.
Presidents have been assassinated before. Abraham Lincoln, James A Garfield, William McKinley, and John F. Kennedy were all assassinated while in office. Ronald Reagan was almost assassinated; he was shot, but he survived. Barely. In other words, while assassinations are not common, they are certainly not unheard of. The above-named Presidents represent about 11% of the total.
But the raw hatred for Donald Trump, which remains to this moment, in spite of his stupendous and resounding victory in the 2024 election, is still very real. It is very possible some person or persons are, as I type this, plotting to assassinate President-Elect Donald Trump. There are radicals out there, on the Left, who believe it is simply unacceptable for Donald Trump to serve as the duly-elected President. And it is possible that, having run out of options to defeat him, (i.e., the Russia-Collusion Hoax, the two impeachments, the 95%+ negative media coverage, the lawfare, etc) some deluded person or persons may take him out before his inauguration. Add to that the fact that the largest state sponsor of terrorism, Iran, has made it clear they wish to kill him, and you have a situation where we may see another U.S. President assassinated.
I pray that will not happen. But I would not be surprised in the slightest if it did.
And that, my friends, is the latest elephant in the room.
