Well, I pulled it off. In fact, I pulled it off today!

After threatening to write my first book for quite a few years, I started to dabble in it in 2023. But I saw I was floundering, and so for 2024 I made it my one, Wildly Important Goal – to finish writing the 18 chapters of my first book! And I am heartened to say that today, December 31st, I wrote my final words in the final chapter of this roughly 600-page manuscript.

It is a profoundly satisfying feeling to set a goal and achieve that goal – even if doing so right at the drop-dead deadline! It kind of reminds me of a football team marching down the field with almost no time left on the game clock, and punching it in the end zone for the winning touchdown just as time elapses! It may be a cliff-hanger, but it is such a satisfying sensation to achieve a goal right at the buzzer!

Next goal: get it to a publisher in 2025!
