The home of Uncommon Sense: Providing Clarity, Promoting Intelligence

Two Voices

There are two voices within each of us.

One of the voices beckons us towards stillness, calm, rest, repose, quietude. This voice accepts current reality. This voice is content.

The other voice lights a fire within and spurs us on to reject current circumstances and to strive for something more. This voice represents ill-content.

The first voice is about acceptance. The second voice is about rejection.

The first voice represents the easy road. The second voice represents the more arduous road.

The first voice is at peace. The second voice is at war.

Both have their place in their proper time.

But we must never allow the first voice to lull us into a sense of complacency or laziness.

Much of our time, throughout our life, will find us responding to the second voice.

The closing scenes of our life will tend to entertain the first voice.
